Provo Cricket team gained bragging rights when the completely outplayed Grand Turk Cricket team on the Parade Ground on Saturday July 21st. The gamed started shortly after 10am after the first ball was bowled by one of Grand Turk’s old cricket stalwarts Mr Maurice Hanchell. Batting first Provo team scored 187 which was led by a hard hitting knock of 59 from Ira Baptiste batting at #7. He gained ample support from Kevaung Brown who scored 34 and Gareth Butler and Douglas Brown also chipped in with 21 and 20 respectively. Best of the Grand Turk bowlers was Howard Dickenson who took 2 for 14 from 4 overs. In their turn at the crease Grand Turk could only muster up 70 runs which included 18 extras. This proved to be the top score. Earl Henry was the other score in double figure; he scored 11. The damage to the Grand Turk team was done by Kevaugn Brown who bowled at lively pace to claim 4 wickets. Damian St.Ange tooked 2 wickets from 3 overs. Provo took the awards with Kevaugn Brown claiming the MVP award for outstanding batting and bowling performances. A return match is planned for the latter part of the year.   Provo now has the right to bragging rights as the best team in the country

The belligerent sixty four runs from National Wicket Keeper; Nuwan Bodhinayake and a six wicket haul by Mark Henry enabled the Guyana Jaguars to defeat the defending champions; Police Team. As the finals of the HAB Group/Ganseevort sponsored T20 Cricket Competition came to an end on Sunday June 24th, at the Downtown Ball Park in Providenciales. The Jaguars called correctly and then posted a respectable one hundred and seventy runs for five wickets from their allotted twenty overs. Top Scorer was Nuwan Bodhinayake with sixty four runs which include four fours and six sixes, George Niles contributed thirty nine runs, five fours and Winick Caleb added an unbeaten twenty runs. Bowling for the Police; Ira Baptiste bagged three wickets for forty three runs, from four overs and Damian Young: two wickets, for twenty one runs from four overs. In reply, Police galloped to fifty four runs in the first four  overs but gradually lost wickets and some resistance came from Gavin Bruno and Desbourne Young with thirty six runs partnership and with the departure of Young, there was another partnership of forty between Gavin Bruno and Jerry Grant. But with a clatter of wickets Police were bowled to one hundred and forty seven runs from seventeen overs. Gavin Bruno was the principal contributor with sixty nine runs, nine fours and two sixes, Desbourne Young made twenty one runs. Bowling for the Jaguars, Mark Henry snatched six wickets for forty two runs from four overs. At the end of the match, the following awards were presented: Man of the Match; Mark Henry Man of the Series; Gavin Bruno Most Runs; Gavin Bruno Most Wickets; Damian Young and Munesh Bhagwandas Best Junior Player; Kevaughn Brown

Dolphins vs. Sharks

The Dolphins looked like a team out for revenge when they took the first game of the Grand Turk Cricket Association second 5 game series of matches with a 86 runs victory against the Sharks. Played at the Parade Ground on Saturday June 9th, The Dolphins, determined to redeem themselves scored 218 off 18 overs; Earl Henry the new captain of the Dolphins scored an unbeaten 88 to lead the scoring. This inning included 13 fours. Jeremy Jones scored 43 which included 7 fours and 1 six to be the next highest scorer. Harry Chandwani scored 42 which included 9 fours. Errion Charles was the most successful bowler for the Sharks taking three wickets for 48 runs from four overs. In their chase the Sharks looked threatening, however could eventually only manage 132 runs. Leading scorers in this chase were Oscar Black with 38, Michael Baptiste with 24 and Charles with 22. Zaheer Mohamed and Jay Seecharam were the leading wicket takers with two wickets each. The Dolphins now have 8 points from this win. The series continues next Saturday at the same venue.

Match 5- KB Home Vs Kishco : KB Home won the toss and elected to fields first, Kishco batted and reached a formidable 196 runs for 4 wickets from 20 overs. Top scorer was Pawan Kumar belligerent unbeaten 70 runs (5x4, 6x6), Winston Callum scoring elegant 43 (5x4) and AJesh Vargesh 38 runs (8x4). Butler Played an agressive game Bowing for KB Home, Gareth Butler, and Craig James took one wicket a piece. When KB Home batted and being at 83 for 5 wickets it seems that the things were not going in KB Home favour, but with Paul McKenzie and Gareth Butler at the crease scoring array of shots, KB Home was well in the target but at the end faltered with Butler was bowled in the 20th over having scored a briliant 91 runs from 66 balls (9x4, 3x6) and Paul Mckenzie remained unbeaten at 35 runs. Bowling for Kishco, Winston Callum, Smijo Devassy, and Sanjay Fatnani took two wickets a piece.

Quality Supermarket Kings record wins Quality Supermarket Kings washed away Beaches on Saturday 17th March 2012 as the HabGroup/ Gansevoort Resort T20 Cricket Competition continued at the downtown ball Park. Quality Supermarket Kings won the toss and asked Beaches to take first strike who then posted 159 runs for 5 wickets from 20 overs with Christopher Mcfarlane top scoring with pugnacious 61 runs (10x4 2x6) and Osmond Sicard scoring 25 runs and Yohan Grant adding 21 runs. Bowling for Quality Supermarket Kings Ian Heath, Robert Johnson, Nagarajan Kuthalingam, Austin Etienne and Lloyd Lynch took one wicket a piece. Andy - Man Of the Match Quality Supermarket Kings in reply, being 134 for 8, Beaches seem to have the game in the bag but a spirited unbeaten 18 runs (3x4’s) from Thirumalaiyandi (Andy) Kuthalingam and 16 runs from Lloyd Lynch saw the team home. Other contributors were Jitinder Ganglani 26 runs (3x4, 1x6) and Kevin Hinds 20 (1x6, 2x4) and Nagarajan Kuthalingam 13 (2x4, 1x3). Bowling for Beaches, Yohan Grant claimed 3 wickets for 22 runs from 3 overs and Christopher Mcfarlane took 2 wickets for 28 runs from 3 overs.
